Data Analyst

Voyagin (a subsidiary of Rakuten, Inc.’s travel division) is the leading tours and activities marketplace in Asia. Launched in late 2012, our mission is to help travelers discover and book the best travel experiences all across Asia. Our website features over 2,000 things to do in over 50 destinations in Asia including cultural activities, romantic dinners, adventure experiences, and private guides bookable in advance or in destination via our mobile optimized website.

At Voyagin, we’re dedicated to building a new travel experience and a whole new way for you to discover and book the best tours, activities, and things to do in Bali, Japan, and Asia but we can’t do this without a great team. Together we work to deliver that perfect experience, both online and offline, so that travelers to Asia can enjoy authentic and unique local experiences. We’ve seen incredible growth in the past 6 months, but these are just the early days; come join our team to shape the future of the tours and activities space!

Responsibilities

Although we've been at the forefront of the space, there’s so much more we can do together! We’re looking for someone who is passionate about data and has a knack to see trends amidst the numbers jungle.

Although we’re a team of over 40+ members at the moment, the growth team is really a startup within a startup with each member on this small but nimble team as creators of the business. As an extremely fast growing company, we have outgrown our current data infrastructure. So as the Data Analyst, you’ll have the rare opportunity to first help us setup a new data infrastructure, one that can sustain our high growth environment!

About Your Role

Your role is split into 4 different areas:

  1. Setting up and maintaining a good data infrastructure such that we are setup to track everything under the sun that will help springboard our growth.
  2. Product Analysis
    1. As a company, we run AB tests all the time and as our Data Analyst, you will need to analyse the results of AB test.
    2. In addition to this, we constantly improve and iterate our product, so you will be running numbers to first help us make a decision on the direction of the product and secondly, you will be running the post mortem analysis on how much improvement (or detrimental) the features are to our business.
  3. Financial Analysis
    1. Prepare basic financial data for our Finance Team to do further analysis
  4. Marketing Analysis
    1. Our marketing ninjas are able to setup and track most things we do in marketing but some analysis requires a bit more tender love and care from a data analyst.
    2. These analyses include but not limited to projection on how much we should price a product that will give us the optimal outcome, what markets are we not capitalizing at the fullest potential etc.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone creative, data-driven, great at presenting ideas to the rest of the team, and an experimenter - willing to constantly test new things. We’ve looking for someone curious. We’re looking for someone different - someone with an entrepreneurial heart. We’re looking for someone who’ll be willing to get their hands dirty in touching every part of the business and pushing the boundaries. Are you that person? If so, this is the perfect match for you!

We're also looking for the following skill sets:

  • 2 - 5 years of web data analyst experience
  • Hands-on experience in setting up data infrastructure and statistical modeling
  • A firm grasp in of statistics and SQL and Tableau
  • Familiarity with Google BigQuery, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Facebook Analytics
  • Fluency in English (other languages a plus!)
  • Good understanding of e-commerce / marketplace business
  • Proficient in analyzing & presenting data (through presentations, tables, graphs)
  • Having been an early part of another startup team a plus
  • Familiarity with Asia, having traveled here in the past (experience in the travel space a bonus)

Salary

3500 - 5000 SGD
