We have a new opening for a Legal Associate to join our team and support legal matters in Southeast Asia. You will required to proactively assess legal risks and provide creative and pragmatic solutions. You should be willing and able to work on a wide variety of matters, have the ability to provide commercial and practical legal advice and education to team and startups. This individual will interact with investors and the exciting early-stage companies.

What you’ll do:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of documents related to VC deals and commercial agreements
  • Advise on diverse and cross-border legal matters and contractual review including terms of business and contracts
  • Provide strategic legal advice, counsel and support that is focused on emerging companies and industries
  • Maintaining and enhancing terms of business and other client-related documents
  • Assisting with regulatory enquiries and investigations
  • Providing accurate and timely legal advice on a range of legal issues
  • Maintain and enhance internal governance and policy documents
  • Provide assistance to the business in relation to existing and new business initiatives
  • Preparing compliance reports, management reports and other ad hoc compliance duties


  • Degree holder in law and/or other related disciplines
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience. Financial services experience is not essential, but would be advantageous.
  • Experience representing venture capital funds is strongly preferred 
  • Experience representing start-ups and emerging growth enterprises 
  • Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements 
  • Hard-charging, innovative, and comfortable with responsibility 
  • Business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while providing practical advice 
  • Ability to engage with internal and external business and legal counterparts 
  • Exceptional analytical mind and the ability to understand complex structures and issues quickly
  • Excellent command of English (other language skills well regarded but not required)

  • Have the rare opportunity to gain in-house venture capital legal experience in Cayman and US funds, US / SEC regulatory matters, early stage venture deals across the region and facilitate expansions.
