Robot Operations Engineer

Savioke is the leader in developing and deploying peer-to-peer robots that work in human environments to improve people’s lives. The company’s flagship product, Relay, is a beautifully simple yet sophisticated delivery robot that increases productivity, revenue, and delight for people across a range of markets, industries, and applications. Relay is currently installed or being installed in over 100 locations including hotels, logistics facilities, offices, hospitals and high-rise apartments.

Responsibilities

As a Robot Operations Engineer at Savioke you’ll be part of a team that help us increase robot adoption by supporting the sales and installation process of our Relay service robots in Singapore, the region and around the world. Each project will offer unique challenges as you work with representatives from business partners as well as elevators, telecommunication systems, automatic doors, building infrastructure teams, and more to ensure Relay can be deployed and operated successfully. In your role you will develop a deep understanding of Relay’s systems and inner workings to support Relay’s operations. You will communicate issues to the engineering teams and take responsibility to make sure that Relay works as efficiently and reliable as possible.

The Work

  • Become an expert on our platform and all configuration options

  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners, elevator companies, IT/networking companies, telephony companies, and other 3rd parties

  • Bridge communication between various parties involved in installations to ensure successful outcomes

  • Train our install partners on how to complete installations, including generating documentation and presentations to communicate installation know-how

  • Triage incoming issues and coordinate a remediation plan.

  • Escalate unresolved customer problems to the Quality or Engineering teams.

  • Curate a customer-facing knowledge base for self-serve problem resolution.

  • Communicate product plan to partners/customers and announce new features as they are deployed.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience in a technical field (including EE, ME, CS, robotics)

  • Strong communication and people skills. Customer-centric mindset; willingness to go above and beyond to keep our customers happy

  • Fluency with Linux and/or Unix command-line tools

  • Fluency with Shell and Python Scripting

  • Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical and software systems in complex distributed systems

  • Experience creating documentation, training manuals, or other customer-facing collateral

  • Experience with Network setup and troubleshooting

  • Understanding of VPN operation and troubleshooting

Nice to Have

  • Programming experience
  • Cloud computing experience (AWS and/or GCP)
  • Experience with DevOps tools like splunk,elasticsearch,puppet,chef,jenkins
