General Manager - Director of Operations

About the position – Director of Operations

  • You will be a key member of Whiz Financial international finance team to help achieve company’s ASEAN vision
  • Be the spokesperson for the business vertical; This includes attending media events, training programs, interviews and fielding both online & offline media questions
  • Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and build a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment
  • Build, lead and operate a business vertical focusing on sales, sales operations and partner loyalty and retention function in a dynamic and highly competitive environment
  • Must be equally adept at both strategy and operations
  • Plan and execute the plans for world-class platforms and technology capabilities to strategic partners –empowering capital and commerce-payments ecosystem in emerging markets. 


  • Work with key stakeholders to gather information for weekly forecast.

  • Work with CEO to set business targets and allocate budget
  • Plan and execute business and operations plan within assigned budget
  • Plan and execute driver acquisition and retention initiatives
  • Accountable for business vertical targets, budget and P&L
  • Optimise acquisition channels
  • Responsible for maintaining customer service quality and enforcing merchant programs
  • Build and maintain relationships with various partners in the payments ecosystem (ie. merchants, customers, floor staffs, supplier, contractors)
  • Collaborate with other heads (including other Business Vertical Heads, Product, Engineering, Data, User Trust, Legal, Public Affairs, etc) to address issues, identify new opportunities and share best practices
  • Develop win-win partnerships
  • Build and maintain government and regulator relationships
  • Optimise ecosystem performance
  • Plan and execute customer and partner loyalty initiatives
  • Collaborate with CEO and Marketing Head to achieve overall business objectives
  • Accountable for business vertical financial targets, including revenue, cost and profits
  • Work with Finance team to track actuals vs target, analyze and identify opportunities from financial statements
  • Build, lead and coach sales, loyalty and retention and sales administration teams
  • Build a culture that strongly aligns with Whiz’s Vision, Mission and Principles



  • Minimum 6 years of work experience with 3 years in a managerial capacity
  • Prior experience in management consulting, general management, investment banking, sales, pre-sales, business development, sales operations roles preferred
  • Experience in working in a start-up / fast-paced environment is a plus
  • MBA degree preferred
  • Must be a very detailed person
  • Familiar with Spin Selling, Basho, Creating Client Value (CCV) or other similar sales frameworks
  • Prepared and able to provide high-level directions as well as be hands on when the situation calls for it
  • Adaptable; Enjoys working in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment
  • Strong motivator and collaborator; Able to align large groups of people towards a particular goal
  • Proven experience in developing strategies, and translating said strategies into tangible outcomes
  • Able to initiate and maintain strong relationships with relevant industry partners, suppliers and contractors
  • Excellent leadership, management, problem solving, negotiations, interpersonal, and communications skills
  • Strong planning, execution and coordination skills
