As more places in the world get access to the internet but remain devoid of quality schools, online education becomes a vital tool for progress. However online education lacks key social interactions with peers and mentors that are needed for it to replace school. Our conversations with MOOC takers have shown that there is already a need for such a social network. Smoocer is a mobile app that makes peer learning happen online by connecting MOOC taking students to small study groups comprising of people taking the same online course. We are launching our private beta in May 2015 to a few existing customers.
