OVERVIEW

Givola Labs is a digital innovation studio for the 21st century. We are looking for a software developer on a 6 month contract period. The candidate will be undertaking rapid development to produce proofs of concepts. Most of the work will be around integration, writing API and configuration. The candidate must have broad skill sets as well as being a competent and accomplished developer using languages including and not exclusively python, C#, Java. Exposure to Object C will be beneficial. The environments used are OSx, Linux (Centos) and Windows. The candidate must be able to script in each and should have at least basic administration experience. Exposure to Active Directory will be advantageous. Data repositories include postgres, mysql and Hadoop (Cloudera). Although knowledge of interfacing with Hadoop is beneficial, it is not essential. The candidate is expected to understand the principles of Hadoop and also data masking. The candidate should have basic administration experience with mysql etc and be competent in programming against the repositories including Hadoop API’s for data ingestion and dictionary driven extraction. The candidate should have practicable experience of yaml, html, JSON etc. Exposure to networking, security protocols and will be beneficial. The candidate must be delivery focused, do what it takes to get the job done, delight in being hands on in all aspects of computing and eager to gain knowledge on a daily basis.
