matcha5 is an online marketplace exclusive to underprivileged artisans who list their products for sale on our site. We provide training and assistance to artisan vendors to enable them to run on their own in the long run, creating sustainability. We carefully curate the handmade products as we believe beauty and doing good can go hand in hand. We are a member of Social Enterprise Association and have completed the DBS - The Hub Pact Incubation Program for social enterprises. With 20 marginalised artisan groups from Nepal, Africa, Peru, Philippines, Cambodia, India and Singapore, we are helping to create higher exposure and thus product demand for them. For example, one of our artisan vendors Mori Notes has maxed out their capacity for 3 full-time low-income mothers and 2 part-time low-income mothers till end of this year with the orders put through to them through matcha5. We want to extend this impact to other disadvantaged communities. We are currently looking for tech person for our e-commerce website (running on Woocommerce), and people to help in business development, creatives, content marketing, digital marketing, manning pop-up booths on weekends to start on voluntary basis. We will be looking at remuneration or even consideration of joining of core team in the longer term, with the current focus on making the business a self-sustaining one as a social enterprise.
