OVERVIEW

SOCAR was founded in 2011 and grew to become largest car-sharing service in South Korea. SOCAR is a mobility technology company that allows travellers to make short term rental bookings and share their vehicles when they are not using it.

SOCAR has a mission to protect the environment and improve quality of life by reducing the barrier to driving and allowing more drivers to share fewer cars. SOCAR also helps cities reclaim their space by reducing need for carparks and drivers save money and time by moving away from the traditional car ownership model. SOCAR wants to redefine the way people think about car ownership and mobility.

SOCAR Korea has over 3,000,000 registered users as of Sept 2017. More than one car booking is made every 30 seconds and the number continues to grow exponentially.

Today, SOCAR is bringing its mission of better cities to Malaysia and is looking for a pioneer team to launch its service and grow its presence in Malaysia. Together with their investor SK Holdings, SOCAR has plans for regional expansion over the next 24 months with Malaysia being the pioneer city in APAC.
