OVERVIEW
VoiceMap is a publishing platform for audio tours. Its CMS opens up a new, immersive type of storytelling to individuals, companies and community organisations around the world. Its mobile apps for iOS and Android use GPS for automatic playback, accurate to within five metres. Over the past year, VoiceMap has published over 100 audio tours in almost 50 cities worldwide. We are currently looking for a business development manager in Singapore. This is a sales-focused role, centred on establishing partnerships with popular tourist attractions, tour companies, hotels, hostels, and the Singapore Tourism Board. We are looking for someone who can help us to grow a healthy, well-balanced marketplace that serves these partners, our end users, and our community of storytellers equally well. Responsibilities: * Establishing and maintaining a sales pipeline with potential partners * Assessing client requirements and communicating these to VoiceMap editors and the CEO * Networking with content producers to ensure a steady supply of new audio tours in Singapore * Organising occasional events for users The ideal candidate needs to have entrepreneurial flair, but should also pay close attention to detail when assessing partner requirements. A background in Singapore's tourism industry is a plus, especially if the candidate can leverage existing networks, but candidates who have worked in arts and culture, especially with museums, or for advertising and other media companies will also be considered. You will be the only full time member of staff in Singapore and it's important for you to be comfortable working independently. But you'll be working closely with the company’s CEO in South Africa and there is plenty of back office support from Sugar Ventures, VoiceMap's partner in Singapore. You will also have models to apply from VoiceMap’s successes elsewhere, but we are looking for someone who can make this position their own, adapting this new storytelling medium to the context of Singapore. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
